RE: Can I always use access-list with distribute-list?

There are some cases where an access-list won't work and a pre-fix list
will. I can't remember any specific examples to point you to, but I
have run across them. I use one, and felt my config was solid but it
would not produce the results I was looking for. Then created a
prefix-list instead matching the access-list and worked fine.

Learn to be good at both, you will NEED to use both.

Subject: Can I always use access-list with distribute-list?

Dear expert,

Hi. Can I always use ACL with distribute-list? I mean sometimes I read
in IEWB they use prefix-list, can I assume all of distribute-list with
access-list?

Is it give the same result between prefix-list & access-list? I know if
they need to be more complex filtering try access-list and if simple
filtering (e.g just one network) try prefix-list. But I need more simple
think by using ACL for both criterias.

Thanks.
