How do you know that MLPPPoFR is working? I typically ping with a large
sized packet and see if I receive the echo reply faster (Typically half the
time without the Multi-link configured).
For the ping to be faster, the router needs to fragment the packet across
the DLCI in the multi-link group.
There are useful debugs that are documented in QoS Section for this Topic,
but I don't understand what you mean by "my configuration is still working".
It could be working, but you are not actually using the bundle.
From my perspective, you need to enable fragmentation, so that you can split
the large packets between the DLCI in the group. And fragmentation requires
FRTS.
Lab it up and see if you are really seeing a benefit from configuring
MLPPPoFR without FRTS.
