Hi,
I just wanted to know how do we calculate cir, bc and be for CAR if the bandwidth guarantee is 2.5 Mbps and with burst upto 7Mbps. Guranteed transmit aggrement is marked with MPLS EXP 1 and excess of guranteed rate within the burst rate should be marked with MPLS EXP 0.
The calculation that i follow is :-
Recommended Burst Values Cisco recommends the following values for the normal and extended burst parameters:
mean rate = burst size / time interval normal burst(Bytes) = configured rate * (1 byte)/(8 bits) * 1.5 seconds extended burst(Bytes) = 2 * normal burst
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2/qos/configuration/guide/qcfpolsh.html#wp1000977
So for above requirement:-
rate-limit input access-group 100 2500000 468750 937500 conform-action set-mpls-exp-imposition-transmit 1 exceed-action-continue
rate-limit input access-group 100 7000000 1312500 2625000 conform-action set-mpls-exp-imposition-transmit 0 exceed-action drop
access-list 100 permit ip any any
Please advise.
Regards
Sap
