well, assume you are sending to group of hosts but not in the same LAN as
the port-channel, i.e. you are sending all your traffic to a router, and the
router is eventually delivering it to those hosts via another interface.

MAC address is local, hence in the above scenario you use DST-ip.

If your devices are on the same segment as your port-channel, you can use
either.
