I think we need to draw a line. As rightly said by Scott Morris, that
CCDE is more on designing and CCIE is more on support side, A support
person can not be good in desgin and a Desining person can not be good
on support.
We will have to draw a line whether we want to go for design or Support.
Probably it is too early to dive into this blind race.
I liked one statement of Scott Senior (unicasted to me): There are many
other ways for specialization out of CCIE or CCDE for that matter.

Yep Subodh,
From the blueprint observed closely it's greatly about the best
practices that are a must while designing a network, deploying various
services and integrating all of them on a scalable, highly available,
redundant network.
It would greatly concentrating on efficient usage of resources to deploy
all the QOS, MPLS and IP services responsible for making a highly
efficient & available network.
While a CCIE is definitely a specialization in it's respective track.
The CCDE is about the collective best practice & there collective
working.
Definitely current CCIE's moving towards it, would be on upper hand then
anybody else.
As well a sigh of relief for CCIE holders with 10+ years, who are
getting towards multiple CCIE's in order to stay competitive with time &
tech.. This is something they will definitely taste.
Just my thoughts,
Regards,
Dara

What's the potential for devalue? CCIE is an implementation or
"doing"
exam. CCDE is a design exam.
Now, if an employer WANTS to have someone with a CCIE + CCDE,
how is
that a
devalue? That is just multiple areas of expertise.
Not everyone who can do implementation can design a large
network.
Likewise, not everyone who can design can actually configure the
specifics.
Think of it as different tracks, or complimentary certs. It
certainly
isn't a devaluation!

So Is the CCDE going to devalue the CCIE at all? Will cisco
require 4
CCIE's/CCDE now?
doing a design lab seems alittle less scary no?
