Why do you care what Juniper says? :)
------------------------------------------------------------

I even don't trust what cisco says in document and in the real life field
experience
........ you saw the result of next posting?
Many people on this list are Cisco centric.... open your eyes dude....

You are after gaining knowledge and mastering the technology..

I have seen many guys (cisco centric) struggling in the field when there is
a integration between many vendor. for example:
Guys (ciscoboy), was installing router on a 2 megs E1 link using a 3rd party
E1 interface and all he was doing for 3 hours - shuting interface down of
the router and wiping the configuration , reconfiguring the router. But he
even didn't think of looking at the NTU (E1 to X.21 converter box) which was
connected to the router. After 5 hours he came back to me and ask me the E1
card on router is faulty. Not every one but I am just giving you an example.
Here he could have save his time...
Same thing apply wiht Juniper.....

Cisco is sitting in the edge side of the network these days... atleast in my
country. Juniper is running in most of the core network....

Back to the your original question, why I care about Juniper: As I mentioned
above if I don't care what juniper says, i won't be able to work in
mylti-vendor environment.

customer-------|cisco|--------|juniper|-----MPLS-----|Jjuniper|------|Cisco|--------Internet

In above example if i am putting 2 megs CIR on cisco router (customer facing
interface) + 1 megs burst, what would be the result wihout knowing the
different vendor's terminology?

Answer is : the customer will be chewing up 3 megs bandwidth while only
paying for 2 megs only.
bcoz you trusted Cisco documents.

Does that answered your questoin?

Frog..

PS: it's just a discussion, nothing to do with personal...
