Frog/Irfan,
To configure a Non-IOS Mgcp Gateway (6608) Blade please follow:
http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=420286&seqNum=2
To construct a T1/E1 Crossover cable Please follow:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps274/products_tech_note09186a00800b6e0f.shtml
To configure a PSTN gateway Please follow:
Note: When configuring a PSTN gateway please pay close attention to clocking
and Network emulate command. When using a T1/E1 Crossover, you have to
configure one side as network and the other side as user. Also, One side
must provide clocking. You do not loose any functionality using the T1/E1
crossover cable, Works fine with CCS and CAS.
If you are low on budget and can not afford enough DSPs to support a full
T1/E1 on the connecting router , you can always busy out channels on the
6608 port. I am assuming that you have at least one 6608 blade.
For a Non-IOS mgcp gateway such as a 6608 blade, you need only basic
configuration on the gateway ( IP Address, Vlan, Tftp). Most of the
configuration is done on the CallManager since it will be controlling the
gateway.
Once you are comfortable with configuring and using a T1/E1 Crossover, you
can configure one out of the two routers as a Gateway/CCME to emulate PSTN.
The only drawback is that you will not be able to route calls back out of
PSTN.
HTH,
