I can't speak for Narbik but check out for starters GLOP addressing in 233/8
(RFC 2770) and the RFCs covering IGMP v 1 (1112), v2 (2236) and v3 (3376).
IGMP apparently evolved from the Host Membership Protocol described in Dr
Steve Deering's doctoral thesis.
Then 3973 for PIM-DM and 2362 PIM-SM
There are as you say lots more covering MSDP, Anycast RP et al!
Wendall Odom has a list of RFCs at the end of chapters 19 and 20, Second
Edition. Pages 676 and 732 respectively.
