LOL Joe, you literally just hit on one of my (lesser) motivations for
seeking the CCIE certification. I have only ever opened less than five TAC
cases in a career spanning ~17 years (not all of those in the "routing and
switching" business, admittedly). Every single one of those few experiences
has reinforced that under no circumstances are you to waste time with a TAC
case until you've already proven a bug and just want to get a fix into the
making. At least with a number, you can still bypass Tier 1 and get
something going...

Follow the sun = re-educate a CCNA 3 times in one night on your issue... on
3 continents... then when your case arrives in Brussels the CCIE that gets
your case gives you about as much information as he is allowed to... think

I agree with Brian on this & this thing is working well with some of our
customers. But Cisco TAC discourages the use of it, dont know the reason
why they do so !.
