I am the networking trainer for a well-known computer company. The first
thing I can say is to have a passion for what you teach. The passion shows
through in your delivery. Students appreciate the expertise, knowledge and
experience, especially when you can really explain how things happen and
why. Know your proclaimed field of expertise well.
Second, get credibility. Certs in the real world may not mean as much as
experience, but when standing in front of a classroom, students expect an
instructor to be at least one step above the material they are learning.
What would you think of an instructor that is teaching a CCNA class that has
never taken a Cisco test before? Yes, it's not good to teach to the test,
but he wouldn't have the Cisco testing mindset.
Just my 2 cents (and my opinion)...
