Hi all,

I would like to add that MPLS/VRF techonlogies may be as all seen
nowdays in Enterprise sector, where they are used moslty for resource
virtualization. Pretty good move, I must say :)

However, I could hardly imagine MPLS in current R&S track. After all,
MPLS is just a building layer for a number of applications (L3/L2 VPNs,
TE). Just to set up an MPLS network you would need to configure tons
of stuff: mp-BGP, RSVP, label distribution. This would take considerable
amount of time out of other topics like basic routing and switching.

The way I perceive future CCIE lab examinations, is that they will
eventually step off "barebones" and move to "heavily" preconfigured
topologies, where candidate's task is to troubleshoot and configure
a few number of "complex" tasks (not a big bunch of "simple" tasks
like nowdays).

For instance you can get a rack with L2/IGP/BGP/mpBGP/MPLS
preconfigured, and your task is to bring network to baseline and partition
the topology into virtual segments, as well as configure some advanced
features (like end-to-end QoS).

Just IMHO, though :)
