I didn't use aliases in my lab, because I type fast and I know the
shortcuts. However, I do use them at work sometimes.
For example, I've been working on an install that has a lot of physical
interfaces, and a lot of etherchannels. This little snippet shows a way
to get a quick check (hence "qc") on how things are set up and working:
CoreA#sh run | i alias
alias exec aip sh ip int brief | e una
alias exec qc tclsh sup-bootdisk:qc.tcl
CoreA#more sup-bootdisk:qc.tcl
puts [exec "sh eth sum | b ^Group"]
puts [sh cdp n | b ^Device]
puts [sh ip ei n | e ^H]
puts [sh ip int b | e una|admin]
puts [sh int desc | e down]
