CCIE Troubles ?
Dear All,
I am hopeful that this article will be helpful for all
the CCIE Aspirants.I am Sure it would give you insight
knowledge of rewards and
troubles assocaited in the process of Becoming a CCIE
in India.
I started my journey 2 years back to become a CCIE in
Security. Working in a Technical Call Center in Delhi
somebody told me the salaries CCIE
are getting and i was game for it.I just wanted to get
some high paying job and wanted to get out of the
night shifts in BPO Business. I did my CCNA myself
as i found it very easy to read the concepts .CCNA was
not enough game for me so i started preparing for CCNP
.This time also no money so books were the
only trainer. I realised that i am pretty good in the
knowledge and had absolutely no hands on experience.
My Good luck got me a Job in Cisco TAC India and
i joined as VPN Specailist.Again Night shift jobs but
this was different ,i learnt a lot about VPN and
advance networks and devices like PIX,VPN
CONCENTRATOR,CISCO
ASA,CISCOACS ,Wireless Networks etc. Within 9 months i
joined a dubai based company for a package of 12 Lkahs
that was pretty good .By this time i passed CCIE
Security Written(which is no achievement thanks to
Testking). Before that i never bought any book of CCIE
Lab as they were all too expensive and there is
absolutely no book on ccie
seurity without a US $$$ Price. Now in Dubai ,i was
able to afford all the required stuff. I bought my
first book on CCIE Security in Dubai .It was the most
famous book by yousuf Bhaiji
however contains lot of mistakes too.But overall i
liked the book.First month of Going through those Labs
was just too difficult.They are really very tough Lab
.Then i bough a workbook
from Trinetnt through web and this workbook was just
amazing. (It said Trinetnt has to close down there
CCIE training company after major losses).
Now next 2 months were just amazing ,i did a lot of
exercises and felt really confident. I realized that
this is the right time to attempt exam. My company got
me a Visa
for Brussels and i went for the Lab. Wow what an
amazing experience .It was just so simple Lab when i
first looked at it but when i started doing the lab
and completed
over 80% ,i knew i failed badly. Its a test that
checks your knowledge upto the Nose. As a Old VPN TAC
engineer i knew a lot of VPN and security but lab was
a combination
of hardcore routing issues,complex vpn built on
routing and a hell lot of technologies breaking what
you created in first 6 hours.
Life changed after this .I knew i needed a bootcamp
training or forget about CCIE. I already lost
45000+60000+40000=145000 in travelling to Brussels and
lab exam attempt etc. I wanted to go to some good
training company in US however my visa got rejected so
i opted for Bangalore. I went to a Training company
in Bangalore who had big advertisement in News Paper
as best CCIE Trainer and it contains come CCIE Number
of his students.No other add contains 4 CCIE Numbers
so i opted for this.
MY CCIE Bootcamp:- I wanted to go for CCIE Security
bootcamp but looking at my knowledge the trainer
suggested he can only give training for R/S .He knew
that
i am a really bad Security Guy so opted for a safe
passage that he will not take a CCIE Security batch
till the time ,he is certified.I liked his honesty.I
gave him 125,000
as fee as he takes the full money in advance before
starting the bootcamp. Training center was full of
certificates of this Guy.He had almost all
certififcations possible in
the world ,MCSE,CCNA,SAP,PRORGAMMING THINGS TO CCIE
R/S. Not my concern ,i was more interested in getting
a good training rather then investigative journalism.
So next day my bootcamp started and i was introduced
to 2 CCIE R/S Fail guys and they became my trainer
from there on. I found that they were complete peice
of shit
and thier knowledge explained to me why they failed.
However i already paid the money so no fault of
thiers. Then i tried to forge a good relationship with
these guys and came to
know the real story. This institute was full of
freshers who just completed BTECH/BE or diploma from
other institutes in the country.Most of them enrolled
into CCIE
R/S program and failed thier first attempt. I tried to
calculate the cost with then CCIE Training=1.25
Lakhs,Exam Fee=60000 ,Trip to Dubai =25000 (Travel and
Accomodation for 2 days)
as there are always no dates in Bangalore for a long
time.
So the total cost comes to 2.10 Lakhs and all of them
spent around 18 month in Bangalore WITH A DREAM OF
Becoming CCIE. Now they had no choice then become a
CCIE
Trainer with a salary as stipend of RS. 5000 PM.They
had no money to for the next exam attempt and nobody
offers them a good job as they are just Tesking
Written CCIE's.
Now the story of those 5 CCIE's who passed in there
2nd and 3rd attempts. They all shared some things with
each other and became paper CCIE Lab certified however
None of them
has got a job yet as they are just plain shit and
Expertise expected out of a CCIE is Huge. Technical
Interview expectations from a CCIE are just complex .
I knew that i am in Wrong hands and wanted to fly from
there asap so i went to another CCIE School in
Bangalore to enquire however before enterning there i
met a very old friend.
He told me his story that this training company does
not have a single CCIE Trainer and they are even not
capable of running CCNA level Training but because of
big website publicity on Google they are fooling a lot

Next thingi did was to fly back to Dubai in the middle
of so called bootcamp however it was too late ,My
company hired a CCIE Lab certified guy as they
expected from me and
showed me a good looking Pink Slip. Now What
Next....................I was no where. I had no
money,no job and no failth. I will soon post next part
of my CCIE journey soon....
In the mean time beware of these Bangalore type
Training centers who does not produce anything but
become a ccie themselves by asking the students whole
exam content.
