My service provider not only tells my manager that
no local secret vlans are allow, they want
to participate in MST as 1 single region from time
to time but use PVST primarily.
They told my manager to hand over our vlan-to-instance
mapping.
They insist common vlans root in their side, and
my manager insist our local vlans rooted in our
side. They just want to see MST fail in their
requirement and see the root inconsistency error.
Is that they are about ?
And my manager told me if the service provider
switches PVST and MST back and force and back and
force and setting root guard without giving
us any notice and if any of the common vlans
are blocked at the join point, I am the one to
blame.
If I can create an MST region boundary forcefully,
they will always see my network as a CST, even if
they switch back and force between PVST and MST.
If I can find a solution for when I pretend to be
a CST. I don't have to worry about them switching
in between PVST and MST without notice.
