Hello,

There is a discussion about FeedBack Routing (suboptimal/optimal
routing), and one of the task we're faced with says do not allow RIP
redistributed routes to be fedback into EIGRP domain via OSPF. EIGRP is
redistributed into OSPF on 2 routers mutually. Let me try to draw
something here:-

         Ospf Eigrp Rip

|------R1----| |------R5----|------R7----|

R3 -------| |------R4----|

|-----R2----| |------R6

R1 and R2 participates in OSPF and EIGRP (There is mutual redistribution
here)

R3 participates only in OSPF

R4 participates only in EIGRP

R5 participates in EIGRP and RIP (There is also redistribution both ways
here)

R6 participates only in EIGRP

R7 participates only in RIP

I know there are so many ways to do this, tagging is my preferred option
and then deny the tag routes from respective redistributed points on R1
and R2 in this case. If the task says prevent RIP redistributed routes
on R5 not to be fed back into EIGRP through OSPF, will this be different
from if the task says prevent all EIGRP routes from being feedback into
EIGRP through OSPF.

Also, the task says we should use a method that will make space for
routes to be added in the future. Personally, I feel I still need to tag
the RIP routes and only prevent feedback on these, rather than
preventing feedbacks on all the iEIGRP and eEIGRP routes. Let's even say
R4 redistributed it's loopback interface into EIGRP. Should we configure
feedback prevention to include this also ... please see the context of
the task.

Many Thanks
