RE: GroupStudy accelerated CCIE study group

Why all the fuss.

If Paul wants to offer a CCIE program than great. If he wants to interview
prospects that is his perogerative.

The only question one should ask is whether promoting CCIE lab study
programs is appropriate for the group study list. For that I would answer
that we should allow all members or companies with CCIE instructors the
opportunity to on occasion promote their offerings. After all we are
members of this list with the goal of learning.

I think the whole concept is nicer, in that if any of us got to pick and
choose our students, the measurable success ratio would be significantly
higher! However, it doesn't always work that way.

But any good instructor should have the ability of taking not only the cream
of the crop to make them pass but also the not-so-creamy ones and making
them closer to pass.

If anyone thinks they can take someone from 0 to CCIE in any short period of
time, I would be asking some serious questions having nothing to do with the
quality of the instructor but rather the materials. :)

Remember that the CCIE is not the goal. The CCIE is simply a measurable
achievement of knowledge. Knowledge is the goal. Know it and the number
will come. (My rendition of a Field of Dreams (smirk))

Wow it sounds personal.

Actually, no disrespect to Paul at all.

But it seems that there should, would, and could be more testimonials from
someone (ANYONE) claiming to guarantee a pass on only 6 weeks.

Either that or we have a lot of people who are slacking for taking a lot
longer even years to prep (and this may well be the case).

However, I just witnessed ole H. U. do it in just 4 weeks for the guy with
the "bloody-red eyes"...

So...

It is is not impossible.

However, the guy with the blood-red eyes also attendede NLI previously and
he had been to the lab twice and was under severe duress to preform and he
did meet the challenge, but he had a lot on his mind.

So, I suppose if a properly motivated candidate took the course over 6
weeks, was an adequately prepared (experienced CCNP), and had the good study
habits and the capacity to learn quickly, then I'd suppose it could be done
as a matter of routine.

However, that candidate would be the exception to the rule, I would think.

Not impossible, but still rare.

And the capability of the mass of candidates has no bearing on a given
instructor.

As you must know, being an instructor of some repute yourself, you will get
students who are above average and some below average.

However, I would be interested in the interview process for candidates.

Perhaps that does make up the difference. I wonder how many candidates are
in this class as well.

But no matter what, I would still be interested in hearing testimonials from
those who used any instructor I intended to pay over $8000.00 for.

Just being a consumer. Who knows - Atlanta is a short shot for me
plane-wise, and I have a budget that can accomodate the pricing.

Answer my questions, and I may perhaps be a suitable student?
