Question on Redistribute Connected

I have gone thru a number of labs from different vendors and when it
comes to using a redistribute connected most follow the same format.

They use a route map, which calls an access list, for the match
statement.

Is there any thing wrong with just using the interface, for the match
statement? Seems like using the interface would be less prone to
mistakes.
