I got a friend who's company refunded their written, payed for workbook, are promising to pay for bootcamp and LAB - without the friend obligating their future number. He looks at it as a way the company can keep his outstanding employment while he works on the number, as opposed to finding another employer to absorb his training costs.
So many more opportunities shall open with the number, no reason to sell yourself short early
Did you have a CCNP or CCNA, etc. before passing? If so, you were already contributing to their partnership. It's a standard to pay for training/testing fees in order to retain highly knowledgeable and effective workers, IMO.

I have been preparing for my CCIE lab for 2 years. I joined my current
company several months ago and they only paid for the test fee.
Now they want to use my number for partner cert. They basically require
me to update my CCO account with my CCIE number which I haven't
associated it with my CCO yet.
I just want to know how to negotiate for a pay rate increase. Is there
any doc from CISCO specifies that CCIE number is belonging to me and I
have the right to refuse the usage from current employer?
I am not trying to keep my number from my employer, just feel that I
should at least get some awards for my hard work and all the cost during
the past two years.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thank you!
