Re: Dynagen For Total Rack Replacement

I am in the process of going to a hardware lab from dynamips. While dynamips
is an
absolutely amazing tool, it is hardware intensive and I have found I spend
more time
on labs testing physical connectivity issues then doing the lab. In a small
environment,
it's perfect for testing scenarios or seeing what new code would do to your
config, I
even just used to find a bug in IOS...an invaluable tool.

But it take a good hour of prep to get a lab set up with configs and working
through
all the weird issues. I've decided that hardware lab is the way to go...I'm
currently
running dynamips across two high end machines, and was looking at the
hardware to
put it all on one machine...costs as much a real lab...so I'm opting for the
real lab.

I'll continue to use dynamips for work and testing scenarios or even quick
lab practice,
but for real lab practice, going to use the real hardware.

my 2cents...
