RE: OSPF Multipoint issue

This is as per the RFC. The point-to-multipoint network type does not advertise out the network itself. It only advertises out the /32's. P2M is the only network type other than loopback that does this. If you mix P2P and P2M you'll have some /32's advertised by the P2M interfaces and a /24 (or whatever subnet mask is used) advertised by the P2P interfaces.

Subject: OSPF Multipoint issue

Hi,

I have a scenario like this

R1 (multipoint) - R3 (PTPwithR3 and spokewithR5) - R5 (HUB)

Lab says change the hello time on R3 to make it work with PTP.

But when I see the route on R5, I actually see the interface IP of the
R1 multipoint interface/32 as well as the network/24

As soon as I change the network type to PTP on R3 the /32 route
disappeared and I see only network/24 route.

Any ideas

Thanks
