I do not think so. I went through the same process of thinking when I did
this lab.
The VTP pruning message/decision comes from the other end of the neighbor. A
switch will tell the other switch if the vlan can be pruned or not. In the
static removal of the vlan, it is kind of one sided decision and this may
break the requirement. Basically, in this task they are asking VTP methods
to be understood.
