I am using it to study for the SP lab, my computer is a Athlon64 X2 4800+
with 4 GB of RAM, currently I can simulate as many as 20 7200s, running the
Linux version. The routers behave exactly as a real router, this is not like
the other network simulators, it even uses IOS, so any IOS you use will have
the exact same features as the real thing. The simulator now also supports
3600 routers.

Although the simulator cannot simulate 3550(so you cannot study the switch
parts), in my opinion, all the other topics of the R&S lab (including
frame-relay, you can simulate any frame-relay topology) can be studied.
