First thing I do in these kinda situations, change the IOS and try. I
know the perfect way is troubleshooting, but the smart way is other way
around.

  i have this problem with my cat 3550 , anytime i rebooted the switch
it gives this error , what is the solution please as my lab exam is very
close and i need to work on the switch.
   
  00:00:18: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Vlan1,
changed state to down
  !!! WARNING: The switch is not usable !!!
Reason:
Data bus test failed for CAM entry

  I believe someone has this experianced this.
