If you wish to add to the CCIE nightmare you can try to play a bit with areas.
Put your ppp link on the same area of the network you are trying to reach. Put
your main link on other area (0 for example). No matter how high you set the
cost on the ppp link, your router will always prefer the ppp link to reach
that network instead of the main link.
OSPF ALWAYS prefers intra-area paths to inter-area.
