IP cef or acl preferred in mqc

Hey,

When dealing with mqc, what is the preffered method of mathcing some protocol.
For example:
ip cef
map-class match-all RTP
match protocol rtp
!
or should we first create an acl matching udp ports used by rtp and then match that acl under the class-map.

I think in the lab exam, they should say, do not use ip cef to accomplish this or do not use acl to direct us in one direction or the other.

But from the experience of people on the production networks, which way should be preferred?
