The documentation gives the following example.
*area 1 filter-list prefix AREA_1_OUT out
*
*area 3 filter-list prefix AREA_3_IN in
*
In the first case you are filtering prefixes being sent OUT area 1 towards
area 0, in the second case you are filtering prefixes that are coming IN to
area 3 from area 0. As regards summaries created by the area range command,
they are not treated any differently. Does this help?
