Passive interface works a little bit different with eigrp and ospf than
RIP. Putting the interface as passive under eigrp and ospf will prevent
neighbor establishing. I would use wild-card to only advertise the
required interface with eigrp and ospf. For RIP, go with with passive
interface, the only choice I know.

HTH.

Subject: Another dumb Question

Guys -

Another dumb question if you don't mind, when the practice books state
configured EIGRP or RIP and it says only advertise the required
interfaces.
Does this mean use the passive interface command or use the wild-card
masks or both?

How should one read/understand that statement?

Thanks,

T.J.
