Hi,
With regard to the communication medium, I would advise you to use the
Mobile Network, as it will be cheaper and u can get better support in ur
area.
1. if u want to use the mobile network then u will have three choices, they
are the dialup (9.6kbps) ,GPRS( 20-30kbps) or edge (128kbps).In all the
cases u need to buy a GSM modem which will not be very expensive, and then
initiate a dialup to ur head office when it wants to transfer the data. Have
all the data compressed before sending so as to reduce connection time.
2. U can also ask ur operator to give u a data GPRS connection , which means
it will be a 24 hrs connection and get higher data transfer rates.
I guess I have been able to give u a small idea on the communication medium.
Regards
Thomas

Dave,
I think Satellite will give you quick up time, and
scalability that you will need in the future. Mobile
is just too expensive. I heard of other satellite
applications that do not have constant connectivity
like gass stations that send credit card information
over satellite connections.
