I was recently asked a question "Name the socket used for BGP?"
Are they referring to 179?
If you look at this pasted from
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/cscsupport/setup_guides/bgp.html
bgptest> sho os tcp
==========================================================================
TCP SESSION INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Local Remote Remote
Num Session Type State Socket Port Port IP Address
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 SERVER (TELNET) LISTEN 80 23 0 0.0.0.0
2 SERVER (BGP) LISTEN 81 179 0 0.0.0.0
3 ACTIVE (BGP) ESTABLISH 82 20001 179 198.41.9.2

13 free TCBs out of 16.
It shows socket differently.
Thanks for your help!!
