Imal,

Autorp Listener permits the groups 224.0.1.40 and 224.0.1.39 to be distributed
in dense mode, even if you have "sparse-mode" configured on the interfaces.
BSR does not require this command. BSR routers announce themselves using the
PIM neighborship on link-local multicast address 224.0.0.13. BSR
RP-candidates unicast to the BSR. So BSR does not need to create any
multicast distribution trees in order to inform routers of RPs.

  Hi Group,
  I need to clarify the following..
   if we are only allowed to use sparse-mode, we need to use 'ip pim auto rp
  listner"
  in case we use auto rp for rp election..{Pls correct me if I am wrong}
   Do we have to use the same command, if we have to use BSR instead of
  Auto-rp?
   Cheers,
  Imal
