Imal,

I thought the auto listener feature was just designed for auto-rp groups
224.0.1.39 <http://224.0.1.39> and 224.0.1.40 <http://224.0.1.40>. It allows
the routers to treat these groups silently as dense mode groups.

BSR, on the other hand, uses a combination of unicast and multicast. BSR
sends BSR messages to all pim routers at 224.0.0.13 <http://224.0.0.13> with
a TTL = 1, similar to ospf (well, the address is link-scoped)

In my opinion, I do not think the command is needed with BSR. But then this
opinion is subject to serious scrutiny.
