Thanks for the explaination , but im still confused

if the TFTP server does not have any config files (assume I am using TFTP server on a machine other than the CM one just to remove any doubt ) ...how the IP phones can locate the CM ?

Once you enable auto registration for the CallManager server there are
NO additional files you need to place on the tftp server. Just setup
the auto registration as enabled and setup your telephone numbers range
to give out for the auto registration.

Then just make sure that either through IP DHCP option 150 or 66 that
the ip phone knows where the tftp server is for the call manager server.
If you cannot give out the option 150 or 66 then you will need to
manually program into the ip phone the tftp server value under the
network settings.

CM will do that automatically ?

Hi,
It seems that there is no problem regarding to the firmware becuase you
stated that you can add them manually. It should work.Try to remove the
DNS Reliance

enabled for auto-reg

I am using SCCP for phones ,the TFTP is the CM machine and for some
resean the phone does not want to register unless i add them manually .

thanks
