Thanks, Mark. It was the earlier situation with a single port sharing a trunk
line....I didn't know that was a capability on the router port. I configured
it up and everything works. Thanks everyone.

It depends on the situation..

If it is a single port that is sharing a trunk link with the switch then
you
need to look at multiple vlans and configure subinterfaces on the router
side with the correct encapsulation and then assign each sub interface
to
the vlans.

If there are multiple vlans on the interface and you can only have one
ip
address then you need to look at bvi interfaces..

I will not give the answer as that does not teach anything.. So look at
each
situation and the answer should become clear.

I am working with an IPexpert lab N, it is required to have single
router
port in two Vlans. Since a router port is connected to a single switch
port....how is it possible to assign multiple vlans to a single
switchport?
This appears to be maybe an error in the documentation, or, am I missing
something? I know that I can assign a secondary address to the router,
but
the switchport with multiple vlans is a gottcha. Hmmmm....any ideas?

Dave
