Yes. You are right. When everything (encapsulation and virtual-access is
up, etc.) is correct over the PPPoA, as a result, each device will have
the /32 prefix of the remote. This host prefix is not needed if a subnet
is assigned on the link between two devices. But it doesn't hurt
anything in this case. And this is not specific issue with PPPoA. It is
issue with any PPP connection.

When you configure/build a PPP connection between two locations, IP
addresses are exchanged as part of the IPCP phase, if I recall
correctly. A router will add its neighbor's IP address as connected to
the global route table unless the 'no peer neighbor-route' command is
used in the PPP interface configuration.
