Try to determine what's causing the link to stay up by doing some or all of
the following:
1. debug ip packet on your bri 0/0 interfaces
2. show dialer -- look for dial cause (reason)
3. Verify that ospf sees the bri as a Demand circuit with show ip os int.
Your output should look something like this on both sides of the isdn
link:
Dialer2 is up, line protocol is up (spoofing)
Internet Address 145.7.45.4/24, Area 45
Process ID 1, Router ID 150.7.4.4, Network Type POINT_TO_POINT, Cost: 1785
Run as demand circuit. <=== This must be here
DoNotAge LSA allowed.
Transmit Delay is 1 sec, State POINT_TO_POINT,
Timer intervals configured, Hello 10, Dead 40, Wait 40, Retransmit 5
oob-resync timeout 40
Hello due in 00:00:06
Index 2/3, flood queue length 0
Next 0x0(0)/0x0(0)
Last flood scan length is 1, maximum is 3
Last flood scan time is 0 msec, maximum is 5 msec
Neighbor Count is 1, Adjacent neighbor count is 1
Adjacent with neighbor 150.7.5.5 (Hello suppressed)
Suppress hello for 1 neighbor(s)
4. debug ip routing. Use this to see if routes are being added or removed
from your route table.
5. If routes are being added or removed from table, what type of routes
are they? Are they hosts routes by any chance?
6. If they are hosts routes, what's causing these routes to be added
and removed?
7. Remember that ospf considers any route added or removed from the
route table to be a topology change and will therefore bring up the isdn
circuit.

Subject: ISDN Call
Hi GS,
Am having an issue with an ISDN calls staying up forever even though I
have the idle-timeout and the ospf-demand-circuit (to stop OSPF hellos
from ageing).
Thanks for the help in advance.
