OR just used reverse logic...
Remove the backup statements from the serial interface.
If your ISDN is configured properly it should dial successfully.
Re-insert the backup statements and the dialer should return to standby status.

Hello,
How can I test a backup interface, when using BRI as a backup to FR.
Obviously administratively shutting down the serial int is out. In the lab,
I will not be able to physically unhook a cable. Also, I will not be able
to access the Frame Switch to admin shut down the remote end.
Issuing "no encap frame" on the serial int has the undesired effect of
removing all frame config (Map statements, etc)
How would you test such a backup config?
