RE: ospf protocol number

John,

        What I mean to say is that *since* they are two different
protocol stacks their protocol numberings are unrelated. OSPFv2 and
OSPFv3 share the same protocol number just for ease of remembering it.
It's like RIPv2 using the multicast address 224.0.0.9 while RIPng uses
FF02::9. While unrelated they are similar for the sake of making it
easy to remember. Make sense?
