Hi Dan,
You can mix ldp and tdp in the same mpls cloud. Just make sure that you
have the same tagging for each pt2pt connections. As in you can only
form neighborship between either 2 or more ldp interfaces or 2 or more
tdp interfaces. And this not only applies to pt2pt interfaces, it also
applies to broadcast e.g. Ethernet.
To the 1st question, ldp and tdp are the same as in they populate the
database, but they differ as in the have different tcp port numbers.

I am setting up a MPLS lab.
One of my "core" routers does not support LDP, and I can't upgrade it
(long story), but it does supports TDP.
I got two quesitons:
1. How different LDP from TDP is? If I learn MPLS with TDP will it be
almost the same as LDP? 2. Can i mix LDP and TDP in one MPLS "cloud"?
