We did this to become rich? Damn, I have it all wrong then!

Uncle Sam likes me, but other than that...

I hear you there.

After taxes and expenses I actually only take home about $50.00 a month. :)

And the wife gets half of that.

Also, consider some of the side benefits....

He mentioned "net" 1-2K USD each month. With very little cost for living
there compared to the US, that makes it mostly take-home pay. Also, per IRS
rules, your first $80K earned abroad is tax free (may have increased since
last I looked), so that's another extra bit of money in the end.

When you make $120K/year (10K/month), what kind of take home do you really
have out of that? And when you look at your monthly living expenses, what
kind of money do you really end up with?

It may seem like a large difference, but it likely isn't as big of a shift
as we are all thinking.

Just my opinion....

Scott

I am not quite up to par when it comes to my history facts.

Too busy trying to make $10,000.00 this month. :)

Maybe you can answer your own question. Without offending, there was a time
when the US was very interested in Vietnam. Why was that?

You say the cost of living in Vietnam is low but why in the world would,
let's say, someone from the US making $10,000.00 a month want to move half
way around the world to make $2,000.00 a month?

What is the incentive? Throw us a bone here.

What do you mean "degraded" ?
Do you want to say about the salary ?
How much does a hamburger cost in US ?
