Hi,

"ip rip v2-broadcast" will send out *version 2* update to 255.255.255.255.
We still have all version 2 features like subnet going along with routing
update, route authentication, route tagging.

"ip rip send version 1" will send out *version 1* update also to
255.255.255.255.

Hope this help,
David

Subject: a question about RIPv2

Hi groups,

I use RIPv2, and my question is :
What is the different between "ip rip v2-broadcast" and "ip rip send version
1" ?
I think both of them will send RIP packets to the address 255.255.255.255.
Why do they need the "ip rip v2-broadcast" command ?

Thanks
Hai Minh.
