Hi,
Thank you for your time reading my problem. Today, during lab practice, I
got this problem with terminal server.
I have a terminal server connected to R1 and R2 console.
R1 ---- R2
R1
!
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
duplex auto
speed auto
!
router bgp 1
no synchronization
bgp log-neighbor-changes
neighbor 10.1.1.2 remote-as 1
no auto-summary
!
From R2, I try to configure BGP to peer with R1. Somehow, I cannot manage
BGP peer to up. So, from R2 console, I tried telnet 10.1.1.1 179 to check
whether I can open a TCP session to BGP port.
r2#telnet 10.1.1.1 179
Trying 10.1.1.1, 179 ... Open
exit
quit
^C^C^C
^]^]
.. I stuck here, cannot close this telnet session and lost my console
connection to R2. I also cannot telnet to R2 because I haven't set vty
password. What I need to do is power cycle R2. Any idea if we have this
problem in real lab is appreciated. Thank you.
Cheers,
David
