With some of the more recent 3550 software images, you can also use the
command "show vtp password".

If you're using domains and passwords, make sure they match with your show
vtp status output. The names and passwords are case sensitive, and a space
after a password is considered part of the password. (Note that you will
have to compare the hashes in the output to verify consistent passwords)

Hi Imam,

do a show vtp status on both switches and check the revision number for the
VTP database. If for some reason you client has a higher revision number it
may not accept the update from the server. Otherwise check passwords and
domain names etc (though Im sure you alrady have)
