int vlan

Hi all,
I have configured protected ports in a 3550.

I have two hosts in the vlan 10 and their switch`s ports are protected.

I have enabled the layer 3 in the 3550

If I ping from host A to host B I cannot get a success.

If I disable the protected port I can ping through the layer 2 of 3550.

I don`t understand why?

any suggest?
