Re: Clearing VLANs on Trunk problem - Still shows all VLANs

Hi,

Like CDP, VTP is also independent of VLAN's...a layer 2 messaging
protocol...

So your VTP database gets populated with the vlans configured across your
VTP domain irrespective of us clearing the trunk with unwanted VLAN's.

But even in this case as Brian mentioned data would never pass on the
trunks..you can test it out.

BTW...when you mentioned it was possible with the old cat os...can u check
whether then VTP was disabled ie; both the distribution and access were in
transparent mode...in that case only it will show the locally configured
vlans...

VTP would be generally disabled if its a multi vendor integration as VTP is
cisco proprietary.

Thanks for your time...

Thanks,
Swaroop.
