Hi,
To answer your question ...when you just add that port to a specific vlan it
doesnt explicitly set the port to belong access mode...as by default its in
Dot1Q desirable trunking mode.
You can also do this command to see the trunk capabilities for each port
after you use
"switchport acces vlan x "on a port
sh int x/x trunk
this will show you its default charateristics..which says its still a
trunk...
so thats why you need to explicitly need to set it to access mode.
