Hi there,

We had a similiar requirement in our company for dark sites as they are
called where it is difficult to send a man in a van.

Our Security department insisted the modem dialed back to a specific number
to a server which was not connected to the live network to reduce the
security risk.

We purchased some U.S. Robotics Courier 56K Business Modem which have dail
back security built into the modem itself and they allow you to configure
username/passwords for access and callback security. This easily added the
extra layer of security and that's before you even can attach to the
router's AUX port.

That's how we achieved it and satisified our security criteria.

Regards

Gary Woodward
