However, the NSAP-Prefix in the case of ATM can be a learned value (e.g. not
given on your exam) and you should be able to figure it out easily enough.

They may also tell you to use the same area ID for IS-IS as your ATM
connection does, which again, leads you to need to discover it rather than
makingt things up.

But otherwise, as Brian states, if nothing is told to you (read CAREFULLY
though to be sure!) then you may create whatever you want.

Marc,

        They may or may not, but IS-IS NET addressing need not conform to
the ISO CLNS standard. I.e. if they don't tell you what area to use feel
free to use whatever you want.

        ATM on the other hand is a different story. Unless you are doing
CLIP configuration where some remote device is the ARP server, the NSAP
address (or at least ESI address) must be provided for you.
