Spending maybe 2 - 3 hours at the beginning of the exam designing a
good alias scheme is not a bad idea. After all it will save you time in the
long run.

It's best to read through the entire exam first and think about all
the commands you will need to use. Next, categorize the commands based on
how many times you will use them. Commands that will be run 10 or more
times should be assigned single character aliases, such as the alias
command.

Therefore the first alias you should assign is an alias for the
alias command. Note that a common mistake is to forget variations of the
alias command that will be called. You don't want to get yourself in to a
situation where you have to type more than three characters at a time.
After all, you are racing the clock, and the difference between typing "a"
and "ab" may be the difference between passing and failing.

Router(config)#alias configure a alias configure
Router(config)#a b alias exec
Router(config)#a c en
Router(config)#b d i t d i b0/0 a
Router(config)#b e i t c i b0/0 5272035
Router(config)#c
Router#e
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI0/0:2, changed state to up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface BRI0/0:2, changed state to
%ISDN-6-CONNECT: Interface BRI0/0:2 is now connected to 5272035
Router#d
%ISDN-6-DISCONNECT: Interface BRI0/0:2 disconnected from 5272035 , call
lasted 3 seconds
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI0/0:2, changed state to down
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface BRI0/0:2, changed state to
down
