The command "clear ip ospf 100 process" will cause the router to drop all
of its LSAs and neighbors. (basically reset ospf) In general, I use it to
clear the ospf database instead of waiting for convergence. It also causes
the router to drop all routes OSPF is advertising in the routing table, that
is until the router establishes adjacency with other SPF routers. The "clear
ip ospf redistribution" command is of particular importance when
route-tagging has been configured. I hate waiting for LSA to be aged or
flushed. I've learned to save time using this and other commands. Here are
a few commands I find most useful with ospf:
debug ip routing <---- most important command I picked.
clear ip ospf (#) process
clear ip route *
clear ip ospf redistribution
Perhaps some of the more serior members can give you a better understanding.
That's my $0.02
