According to Parkhurst's OSPF Command and Configuration Handbook, p. 474 & 475:

clear ip ospf process

"Purpose: To reset and restart all OSPF processes or a specific OSPF process on the local router."

Basically, I take that to mean that you are kind of "reloading" OSPF. Resetting adjacencies, clearing databases, etc...

Clear ip ospf redistribution

"Purpose: To clear routes that have been redistributed into OSPF."

I suppose this will clear E2's, E1's and the like.

HTH,
Danny

Subject: clear ip ospf redistribution and clear ip ospf process

Hi all,

the command reference provides no useful information about those 2 commands.
For example, regarding "clear ip ospf process", all it says it that it
"resets the ospf process". But, it doesn't say what that means and why I
would want to do that.

Can somebody show me any scenarios or examples of when it would be necessary
to use those commands?

Thanks very much.
